PRORIS approach

Project and Agile management are of strategic value

PRORIS sees Project and Agile Management as a strategic competence of strategic value to organisations. The determining factor in this is the ever-increasing speed of change in the world and in the environment of all organisations. These changes are increasingly being felt as pressure on organisations to keep up with those changes and even take a leading role in them. Whether they are small or large organisations or government, non-profit or commercial: they are all affected.

The days when it was only about profitability are now behind us. Organisations are increasingly expected to take responsibility for society (People) and the environment (Planet) in addition to Profit. Citizens are becoming more articulate and demanding with regard to their government and the services it provides. Internet technology increasingly enables us to be “on-line” anywhere and anytime, to conduct our business securely and to share our joys and sorrows. The increasing globalisation of the economy is leading to increasingly interconnectedness, blurring of borders and densification of economies. These are major phenomena of complex changes in technology, ecology, social, political and economic spheres.

In all this rapid change and concomitant increase in complexity and uncertainty, Project and Agile management is increasingly being applied and is coming to the fore in boardrooms. After all, changes are implemented through Programmes, Projects and Agile undertakings (called change-initiatives). Project and Agile management also enables organisations to manage complexity, the actors involved and uncertainty surrounding changes. It also encourages cooperation and flexibility within organisations and also in their handling of external factors. The organisations that excel in Project and Agile management have strategic advantage and perform better. They will be the winners of tomorrow. The continued ability to successfully execute the right Change-initiatives contributes directly to sustainable success. In doing so, it is important not only to continuously execute these Change-initiatives better (managing the delivery), but also to continuously select the right Initiatives that contribute to the organisation’s success (managing strategic alignment). PRORIS sees Agile and Project management as a mature professions.

PRORIS therefore sees enabling sustainable success in organisations as its mission. PRORIS does this by enabling organisations and their professionals to excel in Agile and Project management.

PRORIS’s approach

PRORIS’s approach to enabling organisations to excel is fundamentally composed of the 3-Core Competence Model©.

1. The competence of professionals in Agile and Project management discipline. This concerns competence-based and customised development of Agile Leaders and Project Leaders. For this purpose, PRORIS has the learning method Competence Based Learning Experience© (CBLE).

2. Competence in Performance delivery. This concerns the customised development of the organisation in the way the delivery of Change-initiatives is done. This mainly involves behaviour, skills, processes and associated methods & techniques required for successful delivery.

3. Competence in strategic alignment. This refers to the custom development of the organisation in how continuous selection of the right Change-initiatives is done to achieve strategic objectives. This involves strategic alignment, behaviour, skills, processes and methods & techniques required for an ever-optimal balance of change initiatives with the available people and resources to achieve strategic objectives.

PRORIS’s approach to getting professionals to excel is the Competence Based Learning Experience ©(CBLE) which focuses on 3 pillars:

  1. the Professional (“know yourself”),
  2. the profession (“know your profession”) and
  3. the environment (“know your world”).
